Who all owns some bitcoin? I, along with a group of 3 others, sell our GPU hashing power to miners and get paid fractional bitcoins for our contributions. Essentially we are mining, we are in the black now and i hold on to all my btc payments. Not bad for something we never worry about. The machines run about $34/day in btc, it fluctuates a little bit with price but mainly our $ amount is in the 28-35 range regardless of how much btc it is. Obviously our first few months ended up being the most profitable since bitcoin has quadrupled since june

Why did people pay $250 or more for a beanie Baby ?
the belief that it will be worth more in the future.
My belief is that bitcoins will go the way of the beanie baby.

What would you use all of those cards for, if not mining bitcoins? Once we broke even i took away one and Built a pretty powerful pc around it. But other than that, not much... once we can no longer sell hashing power they probably wont be worth anything... If they are i can sell them for cheap but they might burn out before that. My buddy was a systems architect over at Methodist hospital and now works for VMWare, he is the guy who knows the most about it in our group and maintains the hardware.
