November 25, 2017 Schools of Redfish were scattered all over the South end Sabine Lake. From the Louisiana Shore Line to the Causeway, we ran into schooling Reds. Most of the Reds were at the upper end of the slot, or over 28". When the Reds popped up, they were moving fast, and coming out of the water. When they are like that, you are lucky to get 1 or 2 cast into the school before you lose them. They will hit anything you throw at them, you just have to be quick. Don't count on the birds, they were not much help, and scattered. The one small flock of birds we did find, it did not take long for another boat to almost run us over. We did catch some nice Specks at the North End of Sabine Lake, earlier in the morning. Went over to Keith's Lake and there were flocks of birds everywhere. We caught a bunch of undersized Reds and Specks. We were lucky to catch something big enough to keep. Last fish of the day was a Flounder, just to make it complete. Did manage an icebox full of fish (mostly Reds) and a beautiful day on the water. Bobby from Florida, caught the biggest Sheepshead I have ever seen, and the biggest Redfish (his first Redfish He ever caught). If your boat is running, you probably won't see them on the surface, best thing to do is stop and watch for them. Had a really good day!
