Last trip out I heard a knocking sound in my Pro XS. Was thinking valve or ring. Today it sounded much better and I left the ramp. Ran about 10 minutes and whatever it was must of let go. The engine would not produce more than 3000 rpms. When I took of the cowling I found was a broken belt. Any ideas what happened?

Air pump or alternator. ....maybe. I really don't know as I've never had a ProXS.

compressor probly locked up they are prone to do it at about 500 hrs if that is what it was be sure to clean the fuel an air side of the fuel system or you will have more trouble.

Big trouble if oil ,air & fuel side is not cleaned & ALL filters not replaced. Compressors are pricey also if it DID lockup. Sounds like it did. Broken belt is a good sign it did. Just for info to save a little money you can take belt to O'Reillys/NAPA/ AutoZone etc etc.,match it up & buy it cheaper usually.

The ones I have seen won`t even run without the compressor belt on. The fuel and air pressure needs to be within 10psi of each other to run right. The noise does sound like the compressor. The fuel regulator diaphragms can cause problems too. It is a real pain to clean all of the fuel rails but absolutely necessary. The air compressor has an air filter in the top cover that should be serviced too.
