I have both white, and black "mohawk" crappie in my aquarium! I just call them magnolia

My guess is it is a hybrid crappie that took the black strip gene from a black crappie, because I am not aware of any racing stripe white crappie. The hybrids look very much like white crappie.

That's exactly what happened, from what I've read is this fish happened naturally & they exist just not many of them....

Here is a normal mohawk, racer or whatever you call them...Black crappie with a stripe....
