So my wife and I were blessed with our 3rd child a couple months back. We have decided that is enough for us, or at least if we want another we will adopt. So I've decided to have THAT procedure done after the new year. For those of you who have done it what can I expect? Does it feel like you got kicked in the balls for a couple days?

I need to. I just bought a 100 pack of random protections on Amazon the beginning of the month. In 4 years when they are gone I'm getting snipped.

It only hurt for the 24 hours after the drugs wore off. I did EXACTLY as told. I never had swelling and was back to normal in 72 hours.

I haven't had it done, but need to. Not sure about your insurance but since you had a child this year, wouldn't it be better to get it done this year since your deductible it probably met? Or is it covered under the birth control deal, like my wifes Macarena thingamagig.

Ice pack and doing absolutely nothing are your friend. Had it done on a Friday, 32 years ago and was back to work on Monday....not ready to run a race but back to work.
You feel perfectly fine immediately afterwards but, and they will tell you this, don't do anything. Go home and find a comfortable chair to sit in to do nothing. Any other choice and you will regret it.

I did it about a year ago. Afterwards you ice and take it easy for the weekend. Then your back to normal except soreness.
I was awake during procedure, they had radio playing for me. Dont let your mind get to you, at one point it almost did me but nurse gave me a cold wet cloth for forehead.
Nurse was a solid 7...the prep was awkward

The soreness is not bad. I never took anything stronger than Advil. The key is taking it easy for days after the surgery. I know guys who were feeling fine so they mowed the yard and did other light activities. They later developed extreme pain and other issues. Schedule it for Friday and then just sit and watch TV, surf the internet and read all weekend. No mowing. No taking the trash out. No cooking on the grill. Just sit and relax.

Felt fine. Took my son to the park. Worked in the yard. Then, grapefruits.
