Only one way to find out the answer, get out there and brave the cold and give it a shot. Exploring a new area and enjoying the outdoors is much more rewarding than just asking if they are there yet and then showing up and catching some fish. Good luck!

Seems that the people that know where to find them are already finding some. For the rest of us putting miles on the boots, need some consistently colder temps before we have a good shot I think. Haven't started walking at all this year yet.
There are no fish in sonic pond EDIT: Except 1 20lb catfish

They've started trickling in but not in big numbers yet.

I think he did mention something about wanting to explore some creeks with somebody. Just a guy wantin to catch a fish it seems to me, dont see too much wrong with that.

I've been catching them the last couple of weeks in the creeks. Mostly little ones in the usual spots for me, found a couple of keepers here and there. I went this morning for an hour and didn't get bit on hand ties under a float or the plastics that have been working.

They are in the creeks and have been for a few weeks. Every lake around here has crappie in the creeks. Limited out 2 times last week and it will only get better from here.

Gave it a try, but its just small ones in the creek that i tried, not sure if the larger ones come in when it gets colder. Also do you know how deep the creeks need to be to hold winter crappie. the creek i fish is good for sand bass but its not more than 6-7 ft deep at the lowest point
