Read a post on here a couple of weeks ago where someone had a spare stolen at Sheldon. I was there last Friday from sun up til noon and they took mine, had it locked with a cable, had to use bolt cutters. Seems like a State Park could have a little more protection.

That was me... no more fishing Sheldon for me. Too bad since we don't have many lakes to choose from. Too much of a hassle to replace the wheel and tire and it seems that no lock or cable is enough to keep them from stealing them. Stake out... shotgun...rock salt... just sayin...

Heck, we had a spare tire stolen at Betty Creek years back. Thieves are everywhere.

Drugs are everywhere, sorry people everywhere, this world today is something else. Just when you think you have heard it all, something new pops up on the news are you hear it from someone. This world is messed up bad.....

Ain't that the truth. I posted this years ago after it happened but it is worth saying again. Like I said; thieves are everywhere. Some girls (yes, girls) tried to break into my truck at the Lake Conroe ramp at FM830. This was on a Saturday in the middle of the day with people everywhere. They were seen, and when they couldn't get in my truck, they keyed the entirety of one side.

Thieves suck!

was there yesterday and did good till the wind got us -- left about 1030 and the game warden was there when we left


had a conversation with him about the theft and he said they have been showing up more frequently and possibly had some leads on the potential thieves !

If someone wants to take something they are going to take it.

I do not like to lock things using a cable because they can be pretty easily cut with a pair of wire cutters or a good set of pliers. I use a lock and chain on mine, it would require a hefty set of bolt cutters or a saw and some time. If someone had a cordless with a cutoff wheel anything you lock it with could be gone in seconds.

Did not put it up, there was a guy in a blue Camry with temp plates kinda wondering around though. I left windows 1/2 down and took my gun with me, maybe dollar in change in there total!

What about the lug nut lock thing? I have one on my spare. It requires a key to get the cover off so you can remove the bolt holding on the tire.
