Turn key and alarm doesn't sound before I start my motor. So obviously motor isn't starting. checked the fuses on the motor they are good. What do i check in the shifter as it does have the fail safe to not start if in gear.

yes also check safety switch
^^ this. The emergenty kill switch is probably losing contact. take out the clip and push it down hard with your finger. Mine did this just last week. Had to get a new clip

If you turn the key on and nothing comes on you have a bad battery connection or you have blown the main fuse under the cowling. Have you recently changed batteries?
