Arrived around 2pm, off the water at 6:30pm.
No wind, flat calm lake, steam from stacks were vertical straight up.
Water level down another 6 inches, ramp is supper slick.
Water clarity was normal, visibility 12 to 18 inches with greenish tent.
Water surface temp, 74 to 78 degrees.
Air temp around 71 degrees.
Around 4 pm wind started to blow 3 to 5 mph out of south east, small chop on water.
All fish were caught fishing T/R plastic in 12 to 20 feet.

I�ll be straight up, the first hour and half on the water was a disaster, no matter where I went I did not see shad or fish on my sonar screen, it was blank. I�ve always said that when one cannot find a bite on this lake, go the intake area where there is a slow current moving through there you will see some shad and bass. Ninety percent of the time this stands true for me, not sure everyone else has these same results, but I have. Anyhow, I told my partner this same thing and he said, sounds good, let�s go, so we did. First stop we both had a catch within a few minutes. I worked this area over pretty good and we caught something like five bass over there. Then I noticed the wind had picked up, blowing out of the south east making a small chop on water surface. I told him ok man, the wind is now blowing and I should be able to go back to some of those other areas we checked out in the beginning and we should get on some fish, so we strapped everything down and took off. Good move, we were both catching fish right off the bat with several double hook ups. The sonar screen was showing bait balls with fish directly under them as well. We stayed in this area to finish out our trip. Nothing big, but we were on some heavy three pound fish that gave both of us some good battles. I was very disappointed in how this trip started off, wasn�t real sure if we were going to catch anything at all, it was that bad. But we finished somewhat strong with a catch of 23 fish total. My partner has not been bass fishing once this year due to over load at work, so he had an awesome day and I�m glad he was able to escape the working world long enough to enjoy a half day on the water with me.
Side note: I�m not real sure what happened at the boat ramp, but just as the sun had set we heard sirens and noticed flashing lights at the boat ramp for a long time, then another vehicle with flashing lights showed up too. They were there for a good thirty minutes. Now do not repeat this because it is only my assumption ok but I think someone must have slipped and injured themselves at the ramp. The flashing lights were right there close to the top of the ramp. And like I said, this took place right when a lot of anglers load up to go home.

Definitely slippery. We did decent Saturday afternoon. Wasted too much time early, but ended up catching a few in last 90 minutes. All TR senkos in 8-12'.

I can tell you first hand what happened, as it was my father that was injured. After fishing all day we get to the ramp, I backed truck and trailer on ramp and then went to put boat on trailer. My dad normally just pulls me out after getting boat on trailer. This time he decided to hook front strap up and when he took a step his feet came out from under him fast.! They recently dropped the lake, so there is about two feet of algae on the ramp and he did not realize it. From my view, he just disappeared! I killed the motor and yelled for him, no response! I jump to the bow of the boat and see him rolling into the water face first. I carefully get to him while trying not to fall myself I noticed he was bleeding from the back of his head. I rolled and pulled him half way out of the water, I could see he was breathing but was knocked out. Yelled at the guy beside us to dial 911 (If you are reading this, God bless you and thank you!!!) Took my shirt off to stop the bleeding and kept talking to him as he started to come too. Some other guys came and helped me get him into my truck. Then the EMT arrived. He could not remember what day it was, current president or what year. Had them take him to ER, took CAT scan, x-ray and luckley all test came back normal. Dr. said he has a sprained neck, which will be just like whiplash. Guys, I know this is long but please let this be a reminder to be safe out there! When I first got to him I thought he was dead or dying and if he had been by himself he would have drowned.......

Thanks for the information to my post. Glad to hear your Dad is ok. I'm sure he felt like he needed to wrench the boat up some because you have to leave so much of the trailer out of the water due to slick ramp. I know I don't put my trailer down as far as I normally would due to this issue. You can see where others have spun the heck out of their tires trying to get back up the ramp. Wish they would pressure wash the ramp to get rid of the slime. I have slipped and fell several times on that ramp, it is no joke. Almost as though it were ice.

Wow. Glad to hear he is doing good now. Its crazy how fast things happen. I was thinking pressure washer too would at least get the algae off the ramp. I know my buddy said when he was backing me up Saturday that he would just slide 1-2' when backing me down to launch. There's been a time or two that I left 10,000 miles worth of rubber getting out.

If you back down to far and you can't get out, hook the boat up just like you would to leave and use the outboard motor to help push you back upon the dry part. Once the tire is on dry land, stop, kill motor, trim up and then finish pulling the trailer and boat up the ramp. Something I learned on my own while fishing solo. Works great....

Glad he is ok. A buddy from our club one weekend fell twice on the Prairie Park ramp, had a concussion.

You push your truck up the ramp with it in park? If you�re by yourself how does this work? Not trying to be a smart alec I�m trying to learn as I fish by myself too. I don�t think my boat with a 150 Merc could push my Tundra while it�s in park.

Fayette ramps are the only two on LCRA lakes maintained by RPMF Inc (private corporation). That being said they do a terrible job of maintaining ramps and docks. Compared to Bastrop (maintained by LCRA) the docks are pitiful with nails and screws sticking out every where. The ramp is also not maintained, and needs to be power washed as pointed out above (probably take 30 minutes once a week). You should complain about the condition of docks and ramps every time you pay launch fee. I know I will, and if not manned I will write it on the envelope. If enough people complain maybe something will be done. When they are put on notice of dangerous ramp situation they also open up potential for a lawsuit if someone is injured. I also intend to write a letter to LCRA detailing the issues. There is a reason that this is the only one managed by a private company, and it is not working.

fishytx, Glad you found the fish, I was guy that talked to you at the boat ramp and then out on the lake. I did not do so well. I only ended up with one fish, T/R in the trees at 6-8' on water. I did not fish in the deep water, I will try that next time. Hope to see you out there.
