Recently purchased 2017 Nitro with Oxygenators. Is there visible indicator if pumps are functioning?

Totally Silent; but you will see the oxygen bubbles being released into the water when it is running.

Yep, totally silent as the bubbles are formed and released into the water and quickly rise up out the water and into the atmosphere. Don't take it personal, there's one on my boat too. :-)

Hey....adding .00001% more oxygen to the water never hurts!

The first thing to understand about these proven mostly-useless devices is that they are not "pumps" and there is no water movement or plumbing related to them. They have a plate that reacts electrochemically with freshwater when energized with electrical energy. I agree that their effect is that they might increase the O2 in the water by as much as 0.00002%! (Note: TPWD had done some testing involving the use of these, and found that constant water spray aeration was much more effective.)

All reviews and tests I have seen say that running the aerator is better than these things as far as increasing oxygen in the water. Seems like a waste of money if thats the case but if its already on the boat then why not. Every little bit helps.

It may or may not help. It may actually hurt!!!

Always use re-circulation an/or aeration pumps.

Never use the Oxygenator on Squaw Creek! I think it is too much salt/mineral content that creates a chlorine gas; killed 3 bass, but not a tilapia.

This thread is about the Oxygenator, but since you mentioned the harmful gases, I recommend installing a V-T2 Livewell Ventilation System as well to take care of releasing those harmful Metabolic Gases.

Nothing beats introducing pure oxygen into your live wells. It's a simple setup if you're handy at all. All you need are the items below. Put the bottle in one of your front storage boxes, run the hose into the live well (drill a tight hole in the wall of the live well at the top) and then to the oxygen diffuser which you mount in your live well.

You can find this stuff on eBay. The hardest thing for you will be the oxygen bottle. You should be able to get it done for less than $200.

Pure oxygen is by far the best way to keep fish healthy and alive, especially in warm weather.
