Opinions on this boat both good and bad? Good fishing platform? Storage? Rough water ability?

Good boat, I wouldnt call Skeeter a great rough water boat; but it will get you there most times.
Great storage.

I had a 2000. Same thing. Awesome boat. Great storage. I thought it had a very good rough water ride and was incredibly dry. Awesome fishing platform. Stable as the day is long. Big mistake for me to sell it.

ZXs ending w/a C will have a composite transom. Cant remember when they went all composite but think it was in 98...
I have a 96-97 ZX202C. Only complaint I have with the boat is the live well lids. The angle of the back of the seats get in the way of the lids. You need to pry the seat forward to get the lids opened up more than a 1/4 of the way...

I believe the composite transom started in 97.

I did some question asking... the boat is a ZX 202C... So the next question the composite does it help or hurt the boat?

Ok, lets quit beating around the bush. Nobody here can tell you if the boat youre looking at is a POS or not from reading a post. They were good boats, is the one youre looking good??? We dont know, take it to a shop and have it inspected.
As far as composite goes, every boat made is now composite for a reason.

Thats what I was wanting to hear. The general consensus is they were good boats, not junk. But yes I actually plan on taking it to a shop to have it looked at top to bottom.
Yes I know nobody can tell me if its a POS... Ive been around boats for a very long time. Just no experience with a bug boat, always had a cat or a champion. Ive even run a shop years ago. Just wanted to know if the model was junk, from the sounds of it, its a decent boat.

Well truth be told, it wont ride like a Champion. Im not sure about a BassCat, Ive never ridden in one. When I bought my current boat I had been looking for months for a 98-2002 Skeeter 202 with an Yami ox66, I finally gave up on the search. If I could find one in mint condition with an ox66, Id buy it on the spot.

If you can get past the "Skeeter Slap" you should enjoy the boat...

If you like that boat then buy it. The 202c was a great model and sold very well.

The 202 nomenclature was because the boat was 20'2". It was rated for a 200 which was probably the biggest motor at the time. A year or two later it became the ZX225 which was based on its new HP rating of 225. It was still the 20'2" hull design.
If you're OK running a 200 go for it. Otherwise buy one a few years newer equipped with a 225.

GREAT boat! Had one for 7 years and my dad had one for 8 years before I got mine. Truly loved everything about the boat except my dad talked me into a dual console when I bought mine. Boat handled great and was very nimble. The key in rough weather was the trim. Not a speed demon but very stable in all weather and with passengers of all size. From your past boats I think you will be very happy with how stable the boat is as you or a partner move around while fishing. Loved the deck lay out and the fishability the boat offered. Only reason I sold the boat was to get a SHO and single console boat.
