I went fishing out on Travis the other day and I got to my spot and noticed one of the wires on my ultra was torn in half. Everything still works that I've tested. Spot lock, the hummingbird Helix 12, steering. Any idea of what it is? It's coming directly out of the Head of the Ultrex and connects to a wire that goes into the hull. Sorry for the stupid question. The Ultrex was factory installed and I'm a noob at stuff like this. I'm trying to get better. bonus Lake Travis dink

looks like the US2 cable from your transducer aah that might be it. I'm not using the built in transducer. I guess electrical tape should do the trick!

Yes, US2. You can actually pop open the head and remove that cord at another connector if you are not using it. There is a plug inside the head to be able to plug the whole, but MK told me it really didn't matter as the head was not waterproof sealed anyways and water wouldn't hurt it.

I pulled the head apart on mine and put the wires inside so they wouldn't dangle down and get cut

us2 for sure. those cables are almost impossible to splice back together and have work right I have been told by MK.. said had to be replaced if want it to work. If never plan to use it you can do as others mentioned and just "bury" it.
