My grandfather is a retired 20+ yr Army Vietnam Vet who is 100% disabled. He has been falling down a LOT lately. My grandmother just had ankle surgery and cannot help him up when he falls. Yesterday I had to drive to their apartment and help him up. He was laying in the same uncomfortable position he had fallen in for 45 minutes while I was en route.

Being that he is fully disabled from the VA, and also on medicare, is he eligible for a Home Health service of some sort? He lives here in Fort Worth now.

Call the VA, They can tell you over the phone.

Call his doctor. He should have home health care for a few hours a day.

My dad is in the *exact* same situation and the VA sends home healthcare to his place for a few hours a day like Bruce was saying above.

Send me a PM and Ill get you in contact with some one who can, and will get him squared away. I can also give guidance as to how to navigate the VA system and get you pointed in the right direction.

Not to sidetrack this thread, but does VA provide any kind of home health assistance to widows of veterans?
