Most of the cowards that start the shooting will either kill themselves or run away when someone fires back at them. Even if it took his aim off others so they could escape I hope that I would have the courage to stand up and fire back, I don't know what my reaction would be since I"ve never been in a gun fight.

if you have a handgun the guy with a rifle is going to smoke you http://www.historylink.org/File/8767Bad guy- AK, 80rd drum, multiple 30rd mags.. Dead Good guy- standard issue Beretta M9. 4 shots, 2 hits, 80 yards in the open, no cover..Alive "He fired four rounds at Mellberg; two missed, one hit him in the shoulder and one struck him between the eyes, instantly ending his homicidal rampage. The drum magazine in Mellbergs MAK-90 still held 19 rounds of ammunition. " lucky shot it appears which weapon would you choose?

I don't think Butch is saying he'd roll over, but he wouldn't just stand up and fire a pistol with 6-15 shots from 100' away in a open area vs a guy with a rifle and 30 rounds or more.
There are very few of us on here who have ever been in combat or under fire (I'm not one) so to say with 100% that you would go towards the fire is nonsense. Especially in the situation of you with a CCW against someone with an AR-15 and several magazines.
I will die for my family. SO, yes I would do anything for them. If I bum rush shooter, his attention will be on me and not the other 50 people. He better shoot fast cause I can run a sprint in a matter of seconds. Ever try to hit a moving target? It's not easy.....well the cops on tv make it look easy, but as people say....the odds are on my side. I will take the risk for my family. Just in my nature....I won't even think twice. 100' foot, I can narrow that gap in a matter of seconds. so your faster than a bullet?

You can throw a bullet faster than I can run.

You don't have to be faster then a bullet just faster then his line of site the bullet will hit either in front of back of you running not many people can hit a running target. I doubt he can run toward the shooter from a 100 yards out and over take him tho.
