Couple years ago everyone was freaked out about the sand bass epidemic begging everyone to catch and eat them all. Guess it was easier than we thought! I agree though, they did kind of disappear as fast as they came.

I fish Fork a lot now since we have a place there and I've caught three or four all year. Two under the lights at night But there sure is a good number of 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 lb LMBs. That sure looks good for next two, three years.
PB 9lbs 13oz

they are all being held hostage by the LMB! and the LMB has found out they taste better than all them other species with the hooks in them.

I have seen them grouped up in the graph and close to the usual spots, but have not seen the schooling. Haven't caught one this year either.

They are like every other fish on Fork this year...spread out.
Points and humps around the dam area. Old Hwy 154 roadbed.
Wait till this winter. They will pile up in big schools

They are still there in the usual spots and starting to stack up now out deep. Been catching some big ones on CR flukes with bass mixed in. Agree the numbers of them seem less and the number of bass in two pound range is way up. Lake had some great bass spawns the last couple of years.

The sandies don't school anymore because they ate all the shad! Just kidding.

Maybe they've adjusted to the fishing pressure and don't bite as easily. They are still in there...

They're still there, just not in the exact same spots as the past couple of years. We've caught plenty this year... shallow, deep and in between.

What about the bar fish? are they still holding up? I've caught good numbers of BF since spring, didn't want to but did. Sandies are strong as ever, take 3/4 oz lil George out on some road beds and clean points.. You'll find them all right. Hey OZ, about time to go south and load the freezer up again, mine is about cleaned out from the spring crappie run.
