Im looking for maintenance free deep cycles. I usually buy die hards but they dont have any listed on their website. Any other suggestions without breaking the bank.

Catch cabellas agm batteries on sale and you are covered for 5 to 7 years. When on sale I have got them as low as 129.00 but generally 149 to 169. I have 6 of them in boats ANF my motor home. Last for ever.series 27.

The life of any battery is to keep it topped off when not in use.

The life of any battery is to keep it topped off when not in use. Hard to top off a maintenance free battery. If it's a lead acid battery, you can add water. Even when it says "maintenance free". Free as in you don't have to pay to add water. Lol. Just use a screwdriver to pop the "maintenance free" cover off. Also, check levels before charging, but ADD AFTER CHARGING. This is to prevent boiling over and making a mess in the boat.

The life of any battery is to keep it topped off when not in use. Hard to top off a maintenance free battery. I "think" he means to CHARGE it fully immediately after returning from an outing. It's correct that leaving a battery discharged during storage is a terrible plan. I've known of quite a few people over the years who would put the boat away after use, and not think about charging the batteries until they started getting an urge to go fishing again. They were always needing batteries; wonder why?
