I've always been confused as to about what water temp is the best time to pick up a Jerkbait, and when its time to put it down again and go ultra finesse? what have yall experienced as the best times?

About time and keep it on deck till next spring. Years ago it was a top spring time bait for me to, don't know why I got out of the habit around the spawn. Can be a great bait any time shallower cranks and squarebills are producing. Not me but some fish them year round.

After watching MLF and BASS this year... don't ever put it up! Its a year round bait... but my favorite time to fish one is when the water gets into the mid 50's.

Were the MLF and BASS events you referenced driven by the smallmouth bite in current? Or were you just saying in general it can be could in any water at any time?

I was using a Rattlin Rogue one winter with ice forming on the line catching nice bass one after another.
In fall they go in a feeding frenzy and smash in too!

Just killing time with a jerk bait from the bank behind my lake place last weekend and caught two in about 30 minutes. Now is the time for me.

+1. After seeing how dominant that bait was on all the very different lakes, water color, water temp, etc, it's a bait that can always get bit
