I've done the rub/break test on many of the lines mentioned, and determined that the Bass Pro xps brand, 20 lb. it's 16 diameter, is the last to break, in all tests.

Good, I will try the 17#. The 20 gets a little stiff especially in cold weather and gets a little harder to pitch with effectively. I would not go below 17 EJ. I use 17 InvisX for casting but I am not comfortable using 17 for the Up Close & Personal stuff. As soon as you do, you will get The Bite. LOL I haven't gotten the "BITE" in quite a while now.

I have watched knot wars where they test various knots against each other to see which is superior but I would like to see a test of various lines of equal diameter tested for their breaking strength to see which one is superior.

65-50# smackdown to 20-25# abrazx to cross their eyes. If not fishing thick cover ill throw 15-17 invisx and back the drag off.

I use invisx 17lb fluro leader to 20lb braid. I can snap 20# braid pretty easily. Not interested in braid for the areas I fish a jig. I main cover I pitch a jig to is the edge or pockets in grass and to stumps and their root systems.

I fish jigs only on 25lb Sunline just a confidence thing because I know I can get my fish out of almost any type of cover I pitch my jig in.

I'm not sure who Johnny has make the BPS fluorocarbon, but I had two different Seagar lines, right beside the XPS line, and the Seagar broke a lot sooner than any other. What was surprising is that none of the lines broke at the knot (palomar).

I main cover I pitch a jig to is the edge or pockets in grass and to stumps and their root systems. Ez; I should clarify my post from earlier. I use 15 around timber and brush. As I stated earlier I know its on the lighter side buts its so much more manageable than 20 or 25 flouro. But I see where you said pockets of grass, I dont fish any grass, if I I did I would go to the 20 or 25 and probably braid. When fishing grass a 3 pounder could turn into a 6 pounder by the time you get it to the boat. I love my 15 and bought 1k yards through amazon. I started to buy the 17 but I also use the 15 on a lot of other rigs. Its very versatile.
