 Now That Winter is Approaching!

Trout Season is right around the corner!  I know a lot of friends of mine who target sunfish switch over to Rainbow Trout catching during the slow times of winter. Rainbow's are a great substitute for the sunfish during the winter time. Hopefully we can catch both during the winter.  Texas Parks&Wildlife will be posting it's trout stockings within the next two weeks.  Breaking out my 5wt!  Side Note: Gold Super Duper Lures and cheese colored Berkley Trout Baits are already hard to find! Several Acadamey stores are selling out as fast as they can stock their shelves.

What size super duper do you use for the stocked trout? Trout Season is right around the corner! JigandJeep. I use the 1 1/4 size Super Duper. Four pound test line. Side Note: Going to be fishing a lot with my flyrod this trout season.

I have Kastmasters standing by. All I need is the trout. Flags, they should stock Texas Freshwater Fisheries; and, I also took the short trip over to Chandler last spring and they stocked that little lake/pond, I think it is in Winchester Park??? Lots of fun! Brad

The crappie and LMB are moving into the creeks. That will cover November and December. White bass will move into the creeks in late December. That will cover January through March. Then it's back to chasing sunfish.
As a bonus I am killing the white bass being released through the Somerville spillway. They have been releasing water since Harvey and we have another couple weeks before the lake will be back to normal.
