I have Imx's, Glx's, champion extreme and champion rods. all are very good rods.
the Glx is the lightest and most sensitive of these, the champion extreme is next, the champion is very close to the extreme and for the money a better deal. you will be happy with all of these rods. my favorite is the GLX, champion extreme next.

Having several Dobyns champions, I've been extremely happy with them. I have a few loomis but they are the mossy back line and love them. If a day comes were money isn't an issue I would go with glx. But today is not the day. I have 15-17 other rods but I lost my halo twilight 7'3" in lake Carlos, Minnesota. I was very happy with the feel of that rod. Not the lightest or most sensitive but felt good in the hands. I've been slowly upgrading my rods and haven't bought anything but gloomis and Dobyns. Being I have a mossy back and champion 7'6" H i am needing something in between those and my 7'mh. Going to go with the Dobyns champion extreme either 744 or 745! And I'll put a shimano curado K on it. Thanks everyone on the input

The 745 is an awesome rod. I own 100% Dobyns and I have owned several other high end brands, but to me the action and sensitivity of the Dobyn's fit me perfect.

I have owned most brands of rods and for quality of a "non custom rod", G. Loomis is the best, IMO

I agree 744 for Tx. rig and 745 for jigs.

So you would rather have a GL2 over a Dobyns Extreme? That's nuts. The GL2 is not that good of a rod. Not very sensitive at all.

champion extreme all day dobyns does a great job with making sure there high end expensive rods play the part. g looms every rod feels the same weather its an e6x or an nrx. thats just my opinion.

If I was going to get a glx what would be the better jig rod in that series?
