When I need to handle boat registration, I drive to Gainesville. They may not be the most efficient place, but they're much more friendly and helpful then Garland or Ft Worth.

I went to the Garland office a couple months back. Simple registration on one boat, and a bill of sale with other info to transfer another into my name. Turns out the bill of sale had no date on it, and the clerk went out of her way to call the PO and get the sell date over the phone so I wouldn't have to come back. Stood in line for about a whole 5 minutes. I've never experienced the horror stories I hear so many of having with TPWD.

I registered one at Garland office last month. I was the only customer there. Also renewed fishing license while there. I did read a bulletin that if registering by mail, expect a 60-90 day delay as Austin location is inundated at this time. That was in September & didn't pertain to me. Just saying.

I have always had good luck in Garland. She probably was just having a bad day.
