Tymon, a freshwater fish that lives in the rivers of Mongolia. I caught a 15 pound Tymon last October in Hovd, Mongolia and there is no comparison to the way those fish fight. The Tymon get up to 3-4 times bigger than the one I caught. I honestly believe a 60 lb tymon would be tougher to land than a 80-90 pound sailfish.

I caught a bonito (little tuna) on a top water in the gulf while visiting my uncle in FLA. Once he hit the bait he was gone and kinda took me by surprise. As he was striping line off the real I moved up to the bow of the boat and stepped up onto the anchor box to get a better angle on him. Just as I get him under control he does a 180 and heads toward the back of the boat at about 100 mphs. I give chase and end up falling off the anchor box. Out comes several profane words and both knees are now bleeding due to the 3 foot fall onto the no-skid deck. My whole family is laughing as I try to regain my composure and bring this guy in. About a minute later he is beside the boat. Not much of a specimen at 12 pounds, but he sure did turn me inside out for a few minutes.

Would definately have to be a Jack Crevelle.
Nothing like it, and that was on real line and
a big rod. Can't imagine trying to get one in
on a light rod w/ 10# or something.

Haven't caught anything in freshwater that has taken a long time to boat(maybe I need lighter tackle...LOL). Longest fight and largest fish to date was a 450#+ Blue Marlin. Took about 1.5 hours on 30# tackle that we were using to catch Dolphin(Dorado). Lots of boat work and grunt work on my part. Damn near killed me by the time it was over.

55-60lb Albacore on 25lb test when I was just 10 fishing the paddies off of the coast of San Diego. Totally kicked my you-know-what.

Since saltwater has been breached, I will second jack cravelle. If they jumped like tarpon and tasted like ling , they would be the most sought after fish in the gulf.

In freshwater , a 29 inch hybrid, below the dam at Palestine.
I landed it about 100 yards downstream from where I started.

Don't make fun of me, but I think bluegills and rock bass fight pretty hard for their size.

Smallies are hard fisghters too. For lond AND hard fights, hmm, probably sheaphead.

Pound for pound, the bluegill, but let's face it, they don't get that big. Carp has to be one of the hardest fighting freshwater fishes there are.

Tight lines!

86# shark as a 10 yr. old kid on light gear. Turns out I had a very loose drag. I almost passed out.

48# King Salmon in a deep Alaskan creek. Great runs!
