My goodness I had a good time last week. Lake: Cedar Creek. Water temperature: 78-80. Wind SSE 5-10. Moon: full. Bait preference: Thump Chubbies from Constant Pursuit Outfitters. Jig heads: 1/8 ounce unpainted with number four sickle hook. Rods: 8ft Pro Mag from G-Rods International. Line: 8lb hi-visibility mono. Reel: Shimano Sienna and Pfleuger President.

We spent our mornings on brush piles in 6-8ft of water and would finish up somewhere around 15-18ft by the end of the trip. The technique consisted of having just enough line out to make constant contact with the bottom, raise up the rod tip in a very slow manner, pause for 5-10 seconds, then lower the rod tip as slowly as possible until once again making contact with the bottom. The bite would occur during the 5-10 second pause. Typically speaking, the fish would be 18-36 inches off the bottom. Once the pile would get fired off, we could start pitching and the fish would hit the bait on the fall as well.

Good lord, how do I get my hands on some of those baits quickly? You and Chris continue to blow my mind on how you can adapt to the changing conditions so quickly.

Thanks guys for the support! That little cool front yesterday brought out a few big girls and dropped the lake temps from 78 down to 75, moving the fish up shallow and making them very aggressive.
