Gibsons in Weatherford I think. The one on Beford Euless was my go to for tackle, back when I first discovered fishing.

There was a sporting goods store in Longview, Shepards, that my dad and I used to frequent. I barely remember it, I may have been 7 or 8 when they closed down. 1996 or 1997 probably. When Herters 3-1 parkas cost $250.

I was marketing director for TG&Y back in the 80s. We had almost 800 stores scattered around the country. It was a sweet job except for the fact I had to live in OKC.

Bought my first handgun from Gibsons in Taylor, Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt. Ammo was $7.49 for 50 250 gr. lead round nose Winchester. That was in 73, bought lots of ammo and fishing stuff, also alot of plugs, points, condensors, and clothes.

Still a Gibson's in Weatherford.
I went to the one on Gus Thomason in East Dallas when I was a kid. One of only a couple stores open on Sunday because they were closed on Saturday. Texas Blue Law.
I remember my Grandma buying me The Beatles Abbey Road album there.

Spent $98 and change at Gibsons in Abilene from the $100 I had for working all summer hoeing, moving water pipe, and attempting to pick cotton. All on fishing stuff.
