I fish Lake Proctor often. I took the boat, RV, wife and dog for a week after Labor Day. My dog became extremely ill after drinking lake water. I also ended up with a weird blue green slime on my boat at water line. I commented about it to the wife. It took Dawn soap to get it off. I fished Lake Brownwood a few days ago and no slime. Went back to Proctor and boat got slimed again. My dog is finally improving after a week of heavy antibiotics. The Vet thought it might be Giardia but couldn't confirm. On Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, GBRA staff was made aware of a report of an odor emanating in the area below Canyon Reservoir and the potential for cyanobacterial (algae) bloom. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) posted an advisory sign cautioning the public about possible cyanobacterial (algae) blooms and to not swim or consume water directly from the river. GBRA also posted a notice on its social media sites regarding the potential algae bloom. On that same day, GBRA water quality staff responded by collecting water samples from the reported area. Subsequently, on Wednesday, Sept. 20, GBRA staff returned to the site and collected a second set of samples. There were no signs of an algae bloom readily visible around the area on either day. All test results of water samples collected by GBRA will be submitted to TCEQ for evaluation, but initial review of the data does not indicate the presence of an algae bloom.
As part of its participation in the TCEQ�s Clean Rivers Program, GBRA conducts regular water sampling at various locations throughout the Guadalupe River Watershed, including 11 sites in Comal County. Tests run on these samples include, among others, E. Coli, total suspended solids, and several nutrients. Algal assays are not a part of this program. Both current and historical sampling data are maintained on GBRA�s website within the Clean Rivers Program under the Water Quality tab.

Wow this sucks! I was finally going to get a chance to fish there this weekend. Guess. It now lol. Do you know of any other good wade spots in the area?
