Started off shallow 6', caught a couple dinks and moved to 14'. Game on, put 25 in the box in about an hour and another 25 or so throwbacks. Moved to some timber in 16', nada, few dinks. Moved to some deeper water 25' and picked up a half dozen suspended on some timber and a 10lb blue cat. Moved to a brush pile in 16' and put another 15 in the box in about 30 minutes and another 20+ throwbacks. Off the water at 12:30 with 40 in the cooler, left them biting, could have easily put another 10 in the box if we had time. Caught most of them on chart/white or chart/silver Bonehead brush gliders. Love me some fall fishing!

This week of 80's will feel even better

I was out there on Thursday and caught a few shortys in 12' then moved to 16' and same result. I moved one more time to 20' and that is where I found a bunch of fish. I ended up catching 15 before I decided that was enough. I fished for 3 hours total. All main lake off of brush piles. Color or size of bait didn't seem to matter.

The biggest crappie of my life came from Lavon

I went back out yesterday and found them where I left them biting last week. I started off in 16' and first drop, second drop, third drop all caught little ones, but weeded through a number and started catching keepers. I moved out to the 20' spot in the same area and they were there also. I had about 6 in the box and then decided to move across the lake. I started there with the same results but the shorties weren't as often. I was in 15' and started catching bigger fish so stayed here for the remainder of my trip. I ended up with a dozen in a 3 hour trip. Most were caught with a 3/16 jig head and the best colors were red shad and blue fleck.
