I'm new, but here! And if anyone is located in the Temple/Belton or Austin area, I'm always up for a fly-fishing outing!
Also, as an FYI to all you ladies out there, I just started my own business selling kayaks (Heart of Texas Kayaks--www.hotkayaks.net) and will hopefully start selling fly-fishing equipment sometime soon.

I'm with ya Sharonwilson01!! While I like the female representation on TFF, we are the majority FOR NOW! LOL!!! And honestly I find that most of the forums on TFF are not just for men only. IT's everyone giving their opinion and thoughts. But then I am sure every group has that one guy that will be a smart [censored] when a woman replies. Just keep on keepin on ladies!

I hear you RedTopLady. I peruse many of the regular fishing forums on a daily basis. I check here once every month or two.
Growing up in the 50's and 60's I never felt like fishing or hunting was just for men. My dad took his daughters with him just like we were his sons. I love to see mom's and dad's here teaching their daughters to fish just like the boys. You can do it and still be 100% feminine.

TexasBlonde, wish my Dad would have been that way. I taught myself to fish when I was about 17. I was working and on my lunch hour, decided to get away from all the stress and took my lunch to the lake. As I sat in my truck looking at the water I saw someone in a Bass Boat pull in a huge Bass. That is all it took for me to want to learn to do just that. The next day I was so excited as I went to K-Mart and asked the man in the fishing department to sell me some fishing equipment. He of course thought I was silly and suggested I bring in my "husband" or "father" to help me, all that did was made me mad. So, I picked out my own stuff, not knowing a thing about what I needed. But that started me on my way, now I am obsessed with fishing and have several thousand dollars tied up in equipment and lures... then there is my boat and my old boat in the back yard, my truck... well you know the drill. 
My 2 boys grew up camping, fishing and riding motorcycles with me, we had so much fun and still do. My oldest son fishes tournaments with me and I really enjoy that, what we did when he was a little boy we still share. God's gifts to me are my 2 boys for sure.
