Glad I am not having to use any pain meds ( or any meds for that matter) But here is apparently their new upcoming policy CVS to limit opiod scripts

I went to pick up my wife's Narco (opioid) after her c section. Thought I might have to give them the kid to get them. Scanned drivers license and had me sign something. Asked for a 2nd ID. My best man at my wedding died a year ago from overdose of opioids so I don't mind them controlling it closely.

Glad I don't use CVS. My Tramadol pain med calls for one every six hours or as needed. I don't use four every day and some times I use more than four, just depends on the level and location of the pain.

My spousal unit is the same way - some times 4x a day on the pain meds, sometimes only 2 or 3. She's a "saver".
Only problem we have is if she sleeps more than 6 hours and the pain meds fall behind. Very grouchy (justified - she's in pain). She takes the meds, takes a 45 minute power nap and then wakes up "normal".

So, CVS knows more than your doctor about your med dosage?? WTH!

Corporate pharmacy (in this case CVS) have a lot of knee jerk reactions. Something bad happens in one of their pharmacies and their reaction to it is something like this. All of them give lip service to "the pharmacist should use his/her professional judgement" on each prescription. Keep in mind that a recent graduate has spent at least 5 years in a tough course of study in order to put a label on a box. Opioids as a class of drugs are probably the most useful of the medications available when used correctly. At the present time the different regulatory agencies seem to smell blood in the water when it comes to the opioids and they are literally scaring the hell out of prescribers and pharmacists about their use. The regulatory agencies are interfering in the practice of medicine and pharmacy because they can. They can't catch the bad guys, but anyone that has a license has an address that is current. I don't think we are treating patients with a lot of pain with the compassion and sympathy that we should be. Way to busy looking over our shoulder trying not to wind up under investigation from one of these agencies.

Well said. Another thing to consider is insurance companies playing doctor and trying to deny payment. It happened to me years ago before this current trend started. Glad I no longer take meds of any kind.

So, CVS knows more than your doctor about your med dosage?? WTH! This is exactly why I posted the link. I am fortunate enough to not be on any kind of med's and I feel for those that are. Just read to me like the pharmacy would be making decisions that they ought not be making and thus wanted to put this out there for consideration

Just picked up 60 perks today from Rite Aid....
Over the years.....CVS has dropped cigs (I don't care but some do), TriCare which is military and retirees, and now this??? They obviously don't like customers !!!!!
