Whats your favorite fall color combo on a hand tie (head, body, tail)? Looking for ideas.

Well I have not fished fall all that much in recent times, but if I reach back to some of my very best crappie fishing I ever had then I have to go back to a spot that I had a long time ago. When I went to that spot with another fisherman even if that was my wife, we would average catching 60 to 70 per hour. Back then as now I love long lining, but I didn't have that name for it then.
I was using the 1/32 Oz Roadrunners and the color of choice then for the was Flame Red/Kelly Green/FL Yellow marabou tail.
Still I would ask you how far down in the water can you see your jig? Depending on that I could pick colors a lot easier?

Not far at all 1 to 3 feet. Thanks for your response! Okay lets of this I have several for you to see. See the picture below which are all 1/32 Oz Roadrunners. Look at the #2 from the top, that is for seeing down less than say 1 1/2 feet, like after a good rain and it's more stained. Then I use either the top one or my fav is the 4th one down. Now this is good all the way to that 3' area, but once you can see it 3' down, its the bottom 2 that will win the day especially if the sun is out, but if really cloudy then the Chart and Blue or Chart and Black will still work! I would never say that bottom one will not work in any water, but feel it really shines when the water is a bit more clear. These work very well for me on Toledo Bend! Tied up a couple of jigs and tried to copy the #2 jig. Took it out fishing today and that color combo did very well, better than a coupleof my other favorites! Thank You Skip for the color tip.

Your welcome! Glad it worked out for you, but I tell you all these will work very well in the right water conditions! Skip
