Anyone know where I can catch some fish near Santa Clara/ San Jose California? Keep in mind I don't have my boat with me.

I still live in the area , Lake Anderson is the best place to catch bass in the South Bay area . It's located just south of San Jose , in Morgan Hill . The lake is currently closed to boats but fishing from shore can be outstanding . It's a lake that's fairly steep compared to Texas lakes , lots of rock's , no tree's , and a few weeds ( but not many ) . Senko's ( wacky, weightless or dshot) , brush hogs , d-shot robo's all work . If you fish a cloudy day , spinnerbaits , shallow cranks and even top water can work . Start at the dam , and work your way south past the boat ramp and fish area's that are flat points close to deeper water . Keep moving and trying different depths , bass tend to group up at Anderson and the key is to find the depth they are feeding. as a last resort , C-rigs work if you need to get deeper , but plan on losing some set-ups ( rocks are everywhere )Anderson is a great lake , I have fished it for 40 years and it's very underrated . My son visited from Texas last summer and I ended up getting a 11.2lb on a green wacky weightless senko in about 5-7 feet of water . Tight lines , Robb

Bassguy thank you very much for your info as well. I will go try Anderson out the next couple days and give you guys the report. I'm just visiting, not fishing tournaments here or giving away anyone's secrets. Thank you all very much for your info.
