Don't be afraid to look shallow early and late on wind blown flats. One with structure and a good creek or River channel close by would be a good place to start. You can catch plenty of solid fish this time of year just have to be on your toes and trying every option. Here's a September pig to help motivate.

Whoeeeee! That's s bunch of salt in my fresh wounds! I fished down to 7' in some creeks. To no avail! I'll find some sooner or later. Trying some new lakes next week.

clk, that's exactly what I did today. I fished a shelves early before the sun came over the trees. Sure enough the blues were in the shallows feeding on shad and bluegill.
Littlefeather, I thought that was a pig floating by the boat until I realized that was a drift sock.

No Sir Santee rig or I will even pull the float off at times if I have enough waves to keep the bait bouncing around.

Thanks for your input, Sir. My Pb blue came out of roughly 2-3' on santee. Just hard to force that shallow hunch sometime.
