Go to bass boat central and there is a Champion section filled with experts who will tell you anything you want to know about it. I have a Champion and have never heard anything negative about the ride, especially in rough water for any Champion.

They were kind of an oddball hull mold, they don't ride as good as the other models due to some of the changes to the hull. If you want more info than you can handle, ask on bass boat central.

Jeff Sr, actually they are almost identical to the 198 hull except for a few minor changes. I have owned a 97 186, a 191 and a 198 before buying my 2011 202 elite that I picked up at the Ranger plant in Arkansas that was built under stratos label. They had a few issues in 07 with a hooked pad but that was long gone by 08. The changes from the 198 were basically the top cap, rear corners were rounded and they put a curved lip in very back of hull on bottom of transom area which really I really improved the holeshot over the 198, and it rides the same as my 198 did. The passenger console is removable ( at least on mine) and storage in center is better. Think of it as a shorter 210. It really needs a 225, mine has 225 pros and runs 71.5 light and 68 with tournament load. Read livewell full and half of TackleWarehouse. If you have any questions shoor me a pm.
