Damn good story. I'm old enough to remember the hatred for the Japanese and Germans of WW II. I remember a lady next door whose brother was a Marine killed by a Japanese sniper in the pacific. She hated all thing Japanese.

She hated all thing Japanese. My mother, too, had a brother that was a Marine who was killed by a sniper during the battle for Bougainville.
