I am wanting to take some buddies and hit the Brazos below Possum Kingdom the first weekend in Oct. Currently I have seen the flow around 75cfs. Is that too low to float? can we float 80% or more? What flow should I be looking for for a decent weekend or floating?

The problem with it being that low isn't really the little bit of dragging you'll do, but it's the headwind. If there's a substantial headwind (which is likely) and you're not riding down on a release, it can be a bit of a bummer.

Amen. I've floated it as low as 23cfs. Plenty of water in the long pools, but those headwinds...yikes! Lot's of hard work, especially if it's in the 90's.
And that last 2 miles before Rochelles, you're going against the headwinds and pushing off the bottom with your paddle to go forward.
I still enjoyed it though, A rough day on the Brazos is better than an easy day at work or home doing honey do's.
If the winds out of the north like it has been lately, that's a lot better.

This Saturday, a few buddies and myself will be trekking upriver from Rochelles to fish and camp one night before returning. Any word on how the fishing is going?

I will be up there soon myself with a buddy. If you don't mind, post up how the fishing was after you go.

Regarding low flow, I will agree that dragging and headwinds are part of life on the Brazos. Good flows and easy paddling is kinda hard to come by, so I just go when I can and deal with the conditions that are present.

That's a great philosophy!

Another quick question as the trip draws near, is there places to hang hammocks for sleeping or is most of it clear?

There are several sites with plenty of large trees to hang in scattered down the river.
