First hello again everyone. Been away a while but always remember how helpful everyone here is when I need help with something. So today it's on shaky head worm types and which ones you prefer. I have started to really enjoy this technique and would like to learn and grow my knowledge from you pros. I was wondering if anyone here had taken the time to test (in a tank) different worms to see which ones seem to stand up and float better so they present themselves better when setting on the bottom. I have seen some YouTube videos and looks like the robo worm does pretty good but some one the zoom lay flat and don't float at all. So I'm reaching out and asking what type of brand you feel does the best for you in the water. Thanks and tight lines everyone.

Zoom shakey head & shakey head magnum worms are great.

Gene larew tattletail worms are THE JUICE! Both the zoom and Fene worms are tapered from mid-body to tail but the tattletail worms have a boat tail end that make the tail go wild on a shakey set up. They are also great on a neko rig.

Most worms (especialy heavily salted ones) will have a tendency to lie down as they aren't very buoyant but a good shakey head hook and weight will help solve that issue.

I prefer a 6" Roboworm or a GrandeBass Air Tail Wiggler. Zoom Trick Worms work well too. Sometimes I even put a Baby Brush Hog or Baby Rage Craw on a shaky head.

I have not played around with other types plastics then a straight tail type worm but thought a good craw type bait would work well too. I don't think I have heard of this neko rig and will have to google it.

All depends. Throw a zoom trick worm, zoom magnum trick worm and a grandebass rattlesnake. Different baits for different presentations. My numero uno is the rattlesnake

yum genie are pretty insane for their tail action...love them

My favorite is the creme scrounger. I've pretty much replaced my shakys and gone all swing heads though. I'll stick some adhesive backed foam around the shank of the hook or stick a whole tooth pick long ways in the end of the tail for extra buoyancy. Works for me.never tank tested but in clear lakes I've experimented and they stand straight up.

On a shaky head I have had the best luck with a Grandebass rattlesnake or baby snake and a Hags tornado.

I am going to experiment with a swimming fluke jr. on a shaky head and see how that works out.

I use a swing head for larger worms like the Grandebass air tail wiggler, Zoom magnum trick worm, and 10 inch ribbon tail worms.

I also like a Biffle bug on a swing head.

Biospawn plasma tails and Yum Dingers work well for me.

I'm glad someone else posted this so my biased opinion wasn't alone. hahaha. I was shocked when I saw the action of these tattle tails when they first came out. that little tail simply can't stop moving even in dead calm water. And now that there is a larger size, it's even better.

Another bait I use on shaky heads that has been deadly for some giants on Monticello is a Biffle Bug. Not sure why this works so well but it does.

Agreed! You cannot beat a Grande Bass Rattlesnake on a shakey head, they stand virtually straight up. My go to as well
