 Trolling motor question and a electronics question?

I'm looking at upgrading my trolling motor. I'm going from a 74# maxxum to an 80# with lift assist. Here's my question? Do I want the universal sonar? or should I just keep using it the way that I have been? If I go with the US will I still be able to attach the temp gauge to it?
I'm also in the process of upgrading my electronics. Which one should I get, the x 515C or the X510c? I will be putting one of these on the bow.
Any info would be great, and Thanks!!!!

when i was out at the Grapevine shootout the professor told me to stay away from the universal sonar for better detail on my graphs,he even had a guy there that he was rewiring his to an addon transducer for the trolling motor because of the qaulity of picture the graph would recieve from the added transducer.

Well I order my new TM, I got the maxxum pro 80# with out the universal sonar. Should be here next week!! Thanks
