People on here have been saying all the grass is gone. What are they spraying ? The floods pretty much ripped all the grass and stuff out of the river. It's growing back but the river isn't nothing like 4 years ago

The poster stating they were spraying clearly said they were spraying GIANT SALVINIA.

The poster stating they were spraying clearly said they were spraying GIANT SALVINIA. Problem is what they spray on the Salvinia kills everything else too... Watched it happen on Toledo Bend. Kills hydrilla, hay grass, lilly pads, reeds, pepper grass, pond weed, ect... The good news is reports from folks that have been pre fishing are catching plenty of fish, just struggling to break 10 lbs on a 5 fish limit.

Until they develop a salvania herbicide the only way to control it effectively is spraying with collateral damage. It's better than not spraying and every lake looking like caddo

The Red is back to normal level with little current. clearing up too. If you prefished during the past few weeks and went into some shallow back waters you may not get in them now. But in some areas familar stumps are re-exposed, amazing what 6 to 8 inches of water can do.
It looks like they sprayed one area that has salvinia and work boats are set up removing stuck trees from the main river.

We went this weekend and scouted Sat and Sun. While there are some sand bars and the river itself had some pretty good color to it, it wasn't near as bad as I went out there expecting. We also found some good looking areas and caught a few. Really should help us be more efficient when we go back for practice days. There were 2 areas I loved in the past that are no longer accessible at all which stinks but that's just part of it.
