I am just getting into redfish, speckled trout and Flounder fishing on the flats. I am set for fly and spinning reels but need a bait caster that will stand up to the abuse and caustic environment. What are good, durable reels that I should look in to? To be pared with a 7', medium weight inshore rod and primarily fished out of a kayak or wading. Thanks for the input.

Lew's bb1 inshore, or Just the plain BB1. They did just come out with a new inshore reel I might try out this year.

The 6000 is a little big to me. I want to look at the 4600, though. I've have Abu Garcia baitcasters in the past and always felt they were good quality.

X2 for lews. On the lower end of the price spectrum, the Lews speed spool has impressed me so far

on the lower end of the budget--bass pro sells a megacast--gold reel handles very nice and ive caught many larger fish on it hybrids/stripers/catfsih up to 45 pounds.would do well on reds

just use spinning they last longer and are cheaper to replace- no backlashes throwing into wind!
