I know this has been discussed on here before and I don't mean to beat a dead horse but this really torks me off. My wife and I both had today off so we decided to do some bass fishing...the first spot we went to we did okay. I thought we'd swing by the golf course in our area and give it a go....I made a total of 8 casts and a group of golfers came by and said this is private property you need to leave NOW. One of the other guys said no fishing is allowed here! I just said whatever...laughed and we left. The original owners of the golf course welcomed fishermen. They would even stop to ask how you were doing....these buttholes that now own it are exactly that. Sorry..just had to vent.
Thank you Lord for the gifts in my life

Sad, isn't it? What's the big deal? I can see if you're running all over the fairway, but come on. How many of us actually do that? I guess they've paid they're dues & greens fees and they feel entitled to behave this way.

A guy ran me off fishing close to some fat cat bay houses. I was real real far from his house and Im not even sure If it was his property he ran me off of. I tried to reason with the guy but he said he was calling popo so I left. From the looks of this guy he never used the property he had protected,,, but he had made the big bucks to buy it. Doesnt sound like a good trade off to me.

I worked at a golf course for many years can tell you why you were not welcome there, although you may not like to hear it. The property owners are liable for the people on the course. When a golfer pays a green fee or monthly dues, they are releasing the property owner from most accidental injury that may occure on the course. As stupid as it sounds, you could actually sue the proferty owner if your wife slipped on a wet rock, while trespassing, and something bad happend. I was forced to ask trespassers to leave quite often and hated doing it. The golf course I worked at was very scenic and people loved to walk it or ride there bikes and never understood why I was asking them to leave. There is also the danger of the golf balls to consider.
Also, the members of that course spend alot of money for the right to use that property, they take it as a slap in the face when someone else expects to use it for free.

I also take a garbage bag out there and pick up trash around the shore that golfers seem to think it's okay to just throw it where ever. I know why they ask me to leave...because the course owners are liable.
What's funny about the deal is I pay more attention to the golfers and watch out for them more than they do of each other. I never fish a spot where I could potentially be hit by a ball. I guess I'll stick to fishing it very early in the morning or at night.

Security tried to run me off at Royal Oaks CC while I was fishing the part of White Rock Creek that runs through it (under the cart path bridge near Greenville Ave.). He said that they had a tournament going on and that he didn't want me to get hurt. I wasn't actually on their property and politely declined to leave and said that I'd take responsibility should I get beaned by an errant drive. He left me alone after that. I caught at least 50 sandies but not a single one of them was big enough to keep.

I've called them several times....they are jerks. I've even told them I'd pick up all the trash around their ponds...and that didn't work. It's not even that close to my house so I guess I'll find somewhere else to go.
Previous management had no problem with fisherman. Maybe if I signed a disclaimer saying I wouldn't sue if hit with a ball...lol...
I guess the guys this morning....like was previously mentioned...had either a membership or paid green fees and felt like they shouldn't have to golf near fisherman.
So as we were walking off this morning I happened to "accidentally" hit my panic button on my remote...just as the one guy who was rude was swinging. ooops.
Thank you Lord for the gifts in my life

If I decided to picknic in your yard, would you consider yourself rude for asking me to leave.
I hope the golfer is smart enough not to judge all fisherman by one persons "accident".

Suddz I would like to think the golfer would be smart enough NOT TO BE RUDE. The difference b/t my yard and the golf course is I own the land you would be picnicing on.
Maybe I should take my bags of trash back out there.

i found the biggest bass on the local golf courses is a top water buzz bait at about 12 am till 4 am. i catch about 75% more than i do during the day. and off course the bass are way bigger at night cause they have no pressure- at least not much. plus at night you can see the security coming from a long distance with there lights on the carts.

Ryno, do you truly own your land? If so, congratulations. Most of us have to pay a monthly payment to a bank or mortgage company to maintian the right to use that property. I have about thirteen more years before I own my house and property, but if someone broke into it, I would not wait for the mortgage company to ask them to leave, I'd empty my 357 protecting my family.
I can appreciate that you go to some effort to beautify the area while you are out there, but you should understand that when the managers of that property have to chose between satisfying a paying customer and giving a fisherman free access, they will chose the money every time.
My advice would be to fish the area at night, dont leave any signs that you were there, and try to avoid any interaction with anyone associated with that protery. Once they ask you to leave and not return, your screwd because the next time your caught will probably lead to charges. If you have a logical argument for why dumping trash on thier property will help the situation, I'd like to hear it.
