I need one, apparently both of my bats are past the prime, so I'd like to get one. I'm playing in an ASA league out in Plano. What are the thoughts on Easton Demarini Or other brands

Bats past there prime?? I played class A slowpitch (Traveling Coors Light Team) back in the day and never heard such a thing. Well maybe all the hits are gone from it kinda like it ran out of gas, Or maybe dented/ovaled from Jacking the ball over the fences. .

Bats these days need to be broken in and can def Italy go past their usefulness. It's crazy how expensive they are, too.

Most guys I remember bought all the high dollar goodies and couldn't dink it out of the infield.

Most guys I remember bought all the high dollar goodies and couldn't dink it out of the infield. They are not aluminum or metal. They are composite woven material that has more pop with more flex/give. With that said ASA bats are all garbage compared to Utrip bats.

Like carbon fiber? I played fastpitch in the early 70's and went to slowpitch when they disbanded the fastpitch teams around 75. . Had 11 guys around the West texas Area that went somewhere every weekend in summer as a tournament team sponsored by Coors Light. All hit Aluminum and about 7 out of the bunch could hit a dinger every time up. All of the rest could hit several every game. Most of the teams could do the same. Good times for sure. Amazing how far a red dot will fly. Enjoy the game.

You break them in like you do a new pair of shoes, you use them.

miken ultra 2 was the best bat ever made.... unfortunately, some people like to hit up the middle and screw it up for everybody else. the best bats have to be broken in now because they can not be hot out of the factory. the down side is when you break them in good, they have little life left in them.

what's your experience? are you hitting for "average" or are you "jackin". I'm way above average. This league does not allow home runs but the next league up does. So I want to be ready. Right now I'd like solid contact to the fence. The city of Plano checks everybody's bats and then puts a decal on them to show they are approved.

2014 model if you can I like this bat... Truth is if you're going with one of the big boy name brands your not gonna get junk. It all comes down to preferences. I've never had a teammate say no when I asked if I could try one of their bat out so try some of your teammates out and see if you find one you like. The market for used bats is pretty active. Guys (and the ladies) who play a lot are always buying selling trading bats. The Texas softball forum is a good place to look for something used you can get a really great deal on a great bat. Like it was mentioned before new bats don't really get hot until they've been broken in so you can skip that break-in period and save a lot of money by getting a used one. Good luck and enjoy the game.

I've got a first batch synergy 2 that probably has 2000 hits on it. The fibers are exposed but wow it crushes. It's so old the local guys allowed it into asa league lol
