I cannot tell you when it will be open either. It all depends on how high the river gets and if they have to release water from the upper lakes. They will not release water from this lake until conditions on the river allow them to, so this lake could be closed for some time my friend. But as soon as I get word on it being open I'll post it on here. There is also a number you can call but I don't have it right now or I would post that number.

The lake is not closed, my information is not correct. My info came from reading a post a fishing guide had posted on another forum. Noel works at this plant and knows more about this than I do, so disregard this information please. Sorry my info wasn't up to date, I was only trying to help out my fellow anglers.

Doug i think just oak thicket is closed because of weather.
Also we dont release water into the river. We release water into ceder creek. River level has no bearing on what is released or not.
We fill the lake from the river.

Lake level at 3:00 am this morning was 391.5. Far from being in a critical level, so no where close to overflow out of the dedicated overflow.

Wow, I'll change my post then. A fishing guide is the one who posted about the lake being closed. He didn't say just one ramp. So thanks for the information update. And yes I remember the release water going into the creek, but that creek runs into the river not to far downstream.

LCRA ramp information website says both ramps are closed.

Best thing to do is call and check yourself. But yes, they now claim the ramp will be closed this coming weekend. They need to clean up the mess in the parks is what I heard.

My mistake Doug. You were correct. Both ramps are closed at this time.
Sorry for the misinformation.

I just called the park and Oak Thicket Park is open for boat launch only, and they said the lake is safe for boaters. Park Prairie is still closed.

The LCRA web site says both are open, but who knows till you go see for yourself.

I stopped by Oak Thicket today and they are open to launch only. No swimming or camping

Yes, Oak Thicket is open for boat launch only. I fish yesterday morning, lake is up and lots of new water to fish. I plan to go again this afternoon.
