Some of us put our Thumper's in a compartment below deck where we can barely hear it while it's running. Win win.

Could you just record it on your phone then play it on a waterproof microphone dropped over the side? I've never heard of such a device before this thread.

I had a Hydrowave with the thumper chip. That was not even close to the thumper.

I just built a thumper after going with an awesome white bass guide in central Texas. He swears it helps concentrate the fish under his boat when he spot locks ontop of a school or is off a little bit. It "picks up the slack" so to speak by drawing them in by curiosity of their lateral lines sensing the rhythmic vibrations of the thumper. Supplies: I bought an orange storage container from Academy (the bigger taller of the two containers). Costs $14. On Amazon i got the motor and control knob for under $30. Look up "190 rpm 12Vdc" and it should bring up a generic car seat motor. It's about $17. Then get a RioRand motor speed controller. This will allow you to control the speed. You can make the thumper with a hammer like a dead blow hammer or if you have some tools like I do you can make a heavy rod go up and down in a pipe. I attempted to make a short youtube video to give you some ideas. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NIk4qbnMKXc

Scientists have researched fish sounds since 1st world war. Many fish make a thump sound when feeding. Other fish hear the sound and know to go to the sound to get a bite. Just FYI
