Does not sound fun to me. I am out. I am sure you would have a good time if you went as Champs does a great job. I don't like putting my Ranger at that much risk of damage or trying to get off sand bars all day. There will be other tournaments.

BoatUS might be better they offer towing.

The lady at Red River South Marina gave me their phone number when I paid for launching last Sunday.

I don't gamble much. I would like to see this deal on a lake. T Bend would be nice! I stopped fishing Champs because of this. They will get a good turnout, because alot of guys like the casino/ fishing thing. I don't. I fish TTZ now. I hope everyone going to the championship has a great time!

You're right they would have have a great turnout if the event was on T Bend. However, it would be all of the same guys that already fish the East and very few other guys from across the State. I love how this keeps rolling and rolling. No location will ever make every one happy. They have certain parameters they have to stay within and it makes it hard to find a lake that works as has been mentioned 100 times.

I was honestly hoping for Lewisville despite having not fished it in years. The fishing has been very good there since the lake came up and flooded everything. But they have to go where it makes the best sense for their business.

It's understandable... they run a great trail and you can't make everyone happy all the time. I just looked at it in practice and I think we are good skipping this one. If the main river was in play, it would be different, but from what I saw and how much rain I think we will continue to get I think it will be strictly a backwater deal.

No doubt the Red is a fun place, definitely wild and lots of water to fish. It's just hard to access that water unless you live within a few hours and can learn it quickly in addition to having fished it since that flood. I'm not going to have enough time to figure out how to access that water before the cut off, so we'll just save our bullets for another hunt.

That's a fact. Not sure why the bigger trails don't visit this lake more often. Texas Team Trail hit it a few years ago in the worst possible conditions.
