Thanks 44 Diesel. I did notice the other day that my Helix 10 was off when I went up to the bow which is something I haven't ever experienced with previous HB units.

The Helix 10 was installed by Bass Cat- boat is a 2018. The Solix was installed by the dealer. I will check the power.

The dealers are notorious for wiring to the boat harness or an accessory fuse panel, neither is good for electronics.

I am still having issues with no GPS on the Helix 10. This is different from when I had a puck go out on an 1197. Then, i would get a "No GPS position" message (or something similar). Now, it looks like it is looking for a position and trying to get a boat direction but never gets a position. I can see old tracks on the Nav screen but no new ones. Any ideas? Think this is a bad unit? It is a brand new Helix 10 G2 that came on my 2018 Bass Cat. I upgraded the software to the latest version and did a "Set to Factory Default" on the unit and nothing appears to be working. I was wondering if there was something that needed to be calibrated?

No, I haven't. This would be a good idea. I don't remember where that is located at on the Helix 10 G2N.

Press and hold the view button. A menu will drop down. Select system then GPS diagnostics veiw, if I remembered it correctly

Which adapter cable do I need to hook up a hb. 688ci hd di to the xi5. tried the 7 pin and it would not work on 2d sonar , and I know it will only work on 2d.Those outlet stores must all be in china!!!!

Did you Restore Default Settings BEFORE installing the update? If so that is correct, but still doesn't mean it didn't have a software glitch.


If it is showing you on the lake and moving, but not leaving a track, the track may be disabled. Go into the main menu and Navigation Tab and highlight Current Track. Right arrow and ensure that Stop Tracking has not been selected.

Refer to your manual on getting to the satellite screen to determine if it is locking on.

It is the GPS Diagnostic view, you can turn that on in the Views Menu or select it in the SYSTEM STATUS on the first start-up screen after pushing MENU when prompted.

I will go take a look. I don't think i restored factory defaults before the software upgrade but then again it was a brand new boat and I don't think i changed anything from factory default except changing from North Up to Heading Up. It sounds like you guys don't think the unit is toast. That is a good thing. Hopefully, I can get it working.

There is no position and no new tracks. It never knows my boat left its dry storage. All I see are old tracks.

Does not make any difference with the Helix units and number series for Restore Defaults. It is built in to the update software since "some" don't follow the instructions for software updates.
Before that was added, lots had to send their units in to have the memory reflashed after an update.
The instructions still state to Restore Defaults first.

Those of us that have been doing it for a few years have found out that doing a Restore Defaults AFTER an update will correct some glitches.
