Just purchased my first kayak about a month ago. Not necessarily new to fishing but it has been a while since I have done much freshwater fishing. I live in Frisco and would love to find some good spots within an hour or so that are easy to get to and kayaker friendly. Thanks in advance.

Welcome!! Here are my go to spots that are great for getting started.
1) Prosper Town Lake: Small lake, good fishing and no power boats allowed. 2) South Lake in Farmersville: Another small lake with good fishing and no power boats. 3) Elm Fork of the Trinity: This is the stretch of water that runs from Ray Roberts Dam to Lake Lewisville. You can launch from the middle park located off 428 or from the park located at Lake Ray Roberts. I prefer launching at 428. This way I can fish North and South.
These would be my top 3. I fish with my 14 year old daughter so I am only looking for the safest areas for her.

Where is the best place to launch at Prosper Town Lake? This looks like a good, quiet place.

Where is the best place to launch at Prosper Town Lake? This looks like a good, quiet place. We launch next to the fishing dock. You just have to park in the designated parking area. Luckily it is grass all the way down and you can drag if needed.

Is that on the north end of the lake? On Google Earth there looks to be a "circle" type parking area. Is that the area you are referring to? Also looks to be a dock on the south finger of the lake.

From Custer, turn on to Woodview Dr. Go to the end.
