 Winter catfishing in north texas

I'm new to north texas. I have seen you guys posting some pics of winter fishing up here and am intrigued by it. I would like to get out with a guide sometime after christmas and catch some big blues. I live near decatur so i am handy to all of the big whisker lakes. When does the big winter push begin? I've lived in west texas my whole life prior to this and i'm excited to get back on the water. Thanks a bunch

Winter fishing for most all species with the first frost, usually right around Thanksgiving. Crappie moving towards the creeks, fish going deep, etc etc. Prime big blue season is on the warm sunny days when winter is thinking about breaking, roughly February. FYI you can also catch big cats in the creeks on log jams and brush piles in creeks that the shad go up.

You need to Hook up with Tom. He is a awesome catfishing guy. Not to far from Decatur.
