I went to Pool this morning really wanting to try a Whopper plopper. Been thinking about it all week. Had trouble getting myself out of bed, got to the lake a little later than I wanted, no top water but, getting hot, only caught to dinks.... Two hours into the day I was just exhausted and was about to take it to the house.

One final cast with my finesse rod and boom. Hooked something that really wanted to fight. Stripping drag and diving, I could get it high enough that I could see my work but no fish and it would strip line again diving to the bottom. Catfish I told myself not too excited. Finally got it to the boat and was a nice bass.

It was enough to energize me to stick it out and ended up with 18 before I headed in. Was a nice day, even with the jetfleas and wake boats.

I just can't break 7 lbs this year.

Fishing ...... You got to love it , sometimes it will really test your patience and your will only to reward you in the end for your effort .

I thought that was you I saw under the bridge. I was there fishing for crappie until about 1030. Didn't do nearly as well as you!

I'm not sure, did you catch it on the Whopper Plopper? Nice fish and great story. Joe Pool has been beating me up pretty good these days.

I took my granddaughter their the day before for crappie and couldn't get her a bite.
