It took them 67 years to master the art of making a 1 day old hamburger taste and look like a 1 week old hamburger. Nasty food. It may be good IF and only IF you are there at a time when they first make up their weekly batch of hamburgers. They have also mastered the art of wilting lettuce and aging tomatoes so they look natural on their week old burgers that they give to the public. My sons and I had Whataburger earlier tonight, and it was nothing like what you describe. The WB near us is consistently good, they always get our order right, and the employees speak English. Sounds like you need to try a different location. I don't doubt that at all. I wish ours was good, unfortunately it is not.

Some franchises do suck, the one in Huntsville never ceases to disappoint, but it's the employees that can't follow simple instructions that are the issue. Also the one in Crockett jacks their prices up higher than everyone else, but all in all Whataburger is usually great.

Worst one I've been to was south of Dallas a little ways, I think they cooked the burger in Houston and shipped them to Dallas to serve haha. Stupid franchise bs.
Just realized the last few posts didn't quote like they were supposed to, user error.

35c for a burger in 1950? When I was in high school mid-60s 50c would get you two burgers, fries and a shake.
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

I'm still shaking in horror and disbelief that someone actually said Wendy's was better than Whataburger. Not only do they need to leave Texas, they may need to leave the country.
I will pick Whataburger over pretty much every burger place. Only one location has sucked each and every time I've been there and that is the one in Paris, TX on Main.

At 2 am after the bar closes there are only 2 acceptable options, a double meat jalapeno cheese burger from whataburger or Wafflehouse. That is it. We have been invaded by degenerate yankees. Any place that you can't get jalapenos on a burger is wrong. And for the record anyplace that automatically puts 1000 island on a burger should be closed. You should have to beg for it and even then I question that.

I lived in Arkansas for 23 years. Always missed Whataburger for a good fast food hamburger. Almost got to the point I started to like Burger King- God forbid. When we moved back to Texas, Whataburger was like home time. You can get better hamburgers for sure. But Whataburger is consistent in quality, and you know what you are going to get - no mystery sauce for sure.
