Does anyone have knowledge of the Guadalupe South Trial? I have never been there and wondering how easy it is to access the river for wade fishing from the trial. I want to venture beyond lake fishing. Thanks!

Yes, there are several places you can get to the water easily and legally from the trail. During the trout stocking season it gets busy. People say it's a good area to catch stripers and I know people do, but I haven't had any luck at it. There are bass and sunfish, but not in great numbers. As you wade down it eventually gets to deep to wade, but from the dam down you probably have 400-500 yards of wadeable water. You could easily spend 3-4 hours fishing all the water that's wadeable. A kayak would open up a lot more water downstream, but may not be worth the trouble getting it to and from the parking lot.
