 backhaus towel clamp?

What would you use this for in fishing? Bought a tackle box at a garage sale and it had one of these:  The pincer jaws overlap. If I needed it to hold a wound open I would need more than one and certainly need more med supplies than one clamp.

Holding fish while unhooking? too small for anything but bluegill I was thinking there might be some trick to using them to remove a hook from your hand.
